They had a Physicist on CNBC, the Sun shifts is pole every 11 as we all know, that is expected to set off solar flares that the scienctific community underestimated by a factor of 20 times. Physicists are now warning we need to harden satelites and communications; if the flare occured now it would burn out communications. So we have a warning and need to prepare.

2012 is a year where there have been projections of unusual astrological events for many centuries.

I just watched the first showing of "Nostradamas 2012" on The History Channel. It was interesting and there will be other showings:

Hey Mike,

I know you meant this to be serious, but this reminds me of the line from Kentucky Fried Movie where the newscaster flashes across the screen and says, "The World ends at nine. Details at eleven.":act-up:

Greg I was watching CNBC and they had a NASA Physicist and on local TV they had a guy from the Jet Propulsion Lab talking about this. The world won't end, 2012 being the date the sun is set to disrupt communications is a coincidence. The Mayan calender ending in 2012 had more to do with the fall of the Mayan civilization; there were no Mayan Ruler's left to pay for a new calender made from stone; why the looney left has zero'ed in on 2012 looks like just a sheer coincidence.

The world won't end just things will be a pain in the as*.

PS maybe TV satellites being disrupted is a good thing.

I love this stuff. The special doesn't conclude that this will be the end of the world, but rather a year of transformation that can be either distructive or creative. Not just the Mayans, the Hopi shamans,Biblical forecasters, and Nostradamas are predicting a major cosmic event and a change in the polarity of various planets. Various other sources are doing the same thing. When so many ancient and modern scientific sources are picking the same date that gets my attention and stirs my interest. I enjoyed the special and I take things like this as just factors that give me a different view into the mysteries of the universe and are part of the fun and the adventure of being alive.

Hey Gordon,

Denise and I saw the same program. I thought that it was great. I especially enjoyed watching one of my favorite authors by the name of Gregg Braden being interviewed.

Gregg Braden's book "The Divine Matrix" is one of my all time favorites. He was putting on a seminar here in the Nortwest about a year ago that I really wanted to attend, but something got in the way. If he comes through again I will make it a point to go no matter what.
