Hey guys, I've never posted any of my animation work before, but recently I entered a little contest so I thought I'd post the animation here for you guys to see the kind of work I do. It's a surrealist animation that applies to what we are all striving for here, but I'll leave it open to interpretation. :wink:

It's called "The Persistence of Change". The rules for the contest were, it had to be original, last no more than 15 seconds and be about "action". Everything else was left up to the artist. I originally rendered this in HD, but YouTube's processing has butchered the quality, it hurts to see how blurry YouTube Compression makes it, but oh well...

That animation probably represents 40 hours of work. It was spread out over a month in my free time. The character animation isn't really up to my regular standards, I would have cleaned things up more if I had time. The modeling, lighting and effects took the bulk of my time, I'm pretty happy with the overall look and feel.

Bob,

I am an animator for a living, but my work is more closely related to engineering than art.

I love art, comics, books and music. I'm a horrible artist when it comes to pencil and paper, though! Lucky for me, I grew up when computer were being used for art. Otherwise I would have no medium to express myself.

P.S. Very cool to have a syndicated comic strip! I know from my own research just how difficult that is!
