hey Guys,

I don't know about you but I find it almost incomprehensible that anyone would take the role of Rooster Cogburn in a 'True Grit' remake. But check this out:

You know guys, Jeff Bridges might just pull it off. And wouldn't it be unreal if he won an Oscar for the same role that won John Wayne his Oscar.

Wow Jeff bridges looked good in the movie, the girl looked like a kid in this movie. But a movie worth seeing.

PS: I love Black Powder Revolvers, everyman should own a copy of Sixgins by Elmer Keith. I learned to shoot a handgun with a Colt Single Action Sixgun.

Welp,

I want to see it from the trailer. It looks like it will be a great movie and follows the book pretty close. No John Wayne, Glen Campbell, or Robert Duvall, but hey you can't have everything. Looks like they're trying for historical accuracy and I like that.

But, my all time favorite John Wayne line from that movie has to do with Texicans like Max McKinley and Aaron Hoot. I'll throw Ali in for good measure, since he's a Texican too.

"Dad Burn Texican, goes and gets himself killed just when you need him."

Looks like a good movie. Anyone know the name of the Johnny Cash song in the background?

I saw the new "Grit" Friday night. John Wayne could not hold a candle to Jeff Bridges in the role of Rooster Cogburn.
People used to go to a John Wayne movie to see the same John Wayne swagger around as a different character. I loved the Duke, but he was always the same man, just wearing different clothes.

Bridges is filthy and is a treat to watch. The kid was outstanding.

LOL!! I should meander around this part of the forum more often. I have heard nothing but good about this movie. I felt like sacrilege had been done when they made this new movie, but from what I have heard, it is true to the book and that Jeff Bridges has done a great job. Still, I will always be a fan of "the Duke."

A friend of my mine has seen it and the cinema and said that it was really good. To be honest I couldn't think of a better film making duo than the Coen Brothers to remake this classic western. Anyone whose seen any of their other films could testify to that I'm sure.
