I recently finished reading for the second time, the book " Crazy Love" by Francis Chan. It is a book written for Christians who are tired of being in a rut or plateau in their lives, to inspire them to truly live their lives for God. I have read numerous christian books over the years, this one really had an impact on my life. Made realize their is so much more I could give or be doing for God. Author Francis Chan is a well known conference speaker and former pastor, who has a great sense of humor as well, he has many videos you will find on youtube. The book has sold over a million copies, all of the proceeds which go to charity, I bought my copy at Walmart. I'll leave you with one quote from the book, " Having faith often means doing what others see as crazy. Something is wrong when our lives make sense to unbelievers." Can't recommend the book enough, hope you'll give it a read this summer.

I checked out Francis Chan on youtube and he talks about strange things like, "if you are a Christian, and the whole world loves you, there is something wrong with your faith." He also mentions a prayer in the Bible , where the writer asks God for only 2 things....Keep me honest and don't allow me to overly wealthy or poor.....

If this kind of radical teaching ever got into the average mega church it could cause a huge amount of damage!

Thanks for the info. Knowing there are still some Christians out there who accept the Bible as it is written, and are not afraid to say it, restores some of my faith in our North American style of christianity.

That is a radical concept, but that is exactly what Jesus said! The reason Christianity has become so weak over the last couple of decades in America is because we've tried to fit in with the secular world. Hence the "God is good and God is love," message without explaining the other side of this. That man is born with an addiction to sin in a fallen, sin scarred world and that he needs a savior. God help us.
