Hey MikeNY,
That reminds me when I was a kid my uncle taught us how to protect our self.He always told us when it's more than one don't let them get behind you.He use to say back your back to a wall.

Ha Mike,
That was hilarious, especially when he decked the guy who tried to kick him with a right cross.

Street fighting is probably one of those things that you have to learn by doing and if you survive your first 3 or 4 encounters you are probably on your way.
For any of you that are interested there is a great book on Street Fighting titled "The Savage Science Of Streetfighting", by boxing authority Ned Beaumont. It has some great tips on street survival techniques that you can apply.
The part that I found most interesting was the section on the old time fighters - Jack Dempsey,Jim Jeffries, Gene Tunney, Rocky Marciano etc. - that included some great insights into their personalities and the methods that they used to develop their strength and fighting ability.

Gordon that is a great book, I have all three of Ned Beaumont's books. Championship Streetfighting: Boxing As A Martial Art by Ned Beaumont is another fine book on the topic. The older generations like us Gordon learned Boxing as a Sport and Combat Art, simple, fast and deadly, not a bad deal.
Oh yeah Greg great video!

Hey Mike,
McSweeney taught Western Boxing as an adjunct to his system. I learned the same in Hapkido and Kajukenbo; from three vastly different instructors. The only difference was that Sifu Young wanted you to turn your fist while McSweeney and Master Chang taught the fist staying in one position. However all three taught the basics: straight left, right cross, left hook, and upper cut.

Greg I was lucky got to learn Traditional Italian Boxing, Sport Boxing, Savate French Boxing in Europe and later Shaolin Chinese Boxing. Boxing has become the center piece of MMA because it works, even Bruce Lee built his Martial Art around Boxing skills. In New York it was not Blackbelts street folks feared but Boxers, Boxing is simple, direct and works. They use to teach the Street versions in New York in the Boxing Gyms and Clubs along with the Sport, and taught the sport and street applications around the US once.

Im not surprised, in fact I'd be shocked if a good trained boxer could not do that.
I was fortunate to have been born into a boxing family on my mother's side that have been competitve boxers since the late 1800's, with my late Grandfather being one of the best boxers NZ's ever produced. His best friend Tom Heeney fought Gene Tunney for the world heavyweight title.
In my opinion, having boxed competitively & practised close to a dozen martial art styles, boxing has the best attacking hands in the world in terms of effectiveness - speed, power, knockout potential, ability to fight in close proximity etc.
