Just read this book over the weekend. Herschel talked a lot about his struggle with Disassociative Identity Disorder. He shared how God helped him become what he is today and how his DID helped to make him the success that he was on the field.
He stated that he does 2,500 situps and 1,500 pushups a day, and has done so for about the last 28 years. Talk about a pretty simple workout.
I did not know that he only ate one meal a day and has done this for years.
How long do you think his workout of 2,500 situps and 1,500 push ups a day takes? (He didn't give many details about this aspect.)

Stingray;
Excellent choice of words. People do not need to complicate things.
However, simple and easy are two entirely different things. When I describe my workout, as I'm sure most others here do, I often get this reply..."Is that all?"
If 200 various style pushups, 100 squats, and DSR's, DVR's and ISO's are "all", then I'm sorry for being in great shape without lifting weights.
It's that simple! (But never easy).

Hey Guys,
SIMPLE IS POWERFUL! It takes away all excuses for not achieving. And you are right Jack, SIMPLE does not mean EASY. It just means uncomplicated.

Herschel Walker bases his system on the ancient Spartans and he has revived thier tradtion. I heard as a kid that the Roman Legions used pushups and situps and some PC's. I know some think their actual military practice was thier exercise but some think they also worked out as well as using wrestling as exercise and boxing. For them a Gym was open space to exercise and had attached baths.

Right on MikeNY. Mr. Walker actually stated that he studied the ancient Spartans and modeled his exercise program after them. And lets be real, the results that he achieved are nothing less than Spartan.

Interestingly he refers to one of his alter personalities as ".the warrior." He visualized himself as a Spartan warrior while on the field. He was disappointed that he never in the military and was never tried on a real battlefield.
