In the book Pushing Yourself To Power, lots of photos show John Peterson doing his workouts on wooden boxes. John told me of at least two, if not three, sizes: 12 x 12 x 12 ( a square box); 12 x 12 x 15, and 12 x 12x 24, for raising his feet higher in some Atlas push up workouts.

Does anyone on the forum know how to construct the boxes so that the joints are strong and sturdy enough to support one's weight? Also, is the box open on the bottom or closed? Anyone have a drawing in which only the dimensions need to be altered to build a box of any size? I have the table saw and wood...

Thanks!

There used to be plans for the "Power boxes" in the important articles section. I printed out a copy. I believe there was a rectangular piece of wood at each joint.

A friend' wife bought a step exerciser, it is height adjustable. She never used it and he is using it for pushups. I think they are fairly cheap and avilable everywhere. Must be a lot of them sold at garage sales too for a pittance.
