I took your advice and got the M7 book, and started doing the exercises about 4 days ago. I think it’s already helped my upper back pain. I seem to be recovering quicker from shoveling snow too.

So, yesterday I decided to add the panther stretch push-up and the Atlas I push-up between chairs. No problems with the panther stretch pushup, but the most I could do of the Atlas I at a time was 3, and barely at that. I know that sounds wimpy, but remember I’m female! :) I did them several times during the day. Today my pecs are so sore I can only squeak out one, and can’t go as low as yesterday. Should I just do them every other day for a while or what?

DK! That's wonderful! M7 is a fantastic book and has so much to offer.

For the push-ups. It's a pretty standard rule of thumb never to work a muscle that is still sore from the last workout, particularly when you're first starting out. Give you body plenty of time to recover.

Don't worry, before long you won't be getting sore from them anymore and you can preform them everyday!

Hello DK,

It's great to have you with us:highfive:. I read your post with great interest and believe me 3 Atlas Push-Ups to start is not wimpy at all. The soreness you feel presently will disappear and you will soon be able to double your number. Please keep us posted about your progress.

My first Atlas push-ups consisted of me stuck between two chairs...and I am a guy. Nobody passes judgement here. Nobody was born with Charles Atlas' body. I have to say you will find it amazing how fast your pushup numbers climb. I am doing 50 every morning now, and really should be pushing to 5 sets of 12 instead of 5 sets of 10.

Keep at it and you will be suprised by your results.
