Gordon My Friend,

There is something drastically wrong here. It seems as though Madoff and his attorneys are calling the shots. I find it incomprehensible that this guy is not in jail. And as far as a trial is concerned, he's already confessed that he did the crime at least to the extent of owning up to $50Billion that he screwed people out of. So what's preventing justice being done? He must have a list of those that can be implicated that would literally flatten Wall Street if the enormity of who was involved and how were to be televised on the news.

Truth to tell, I wouldn't be surprised if this guy got off on some weird and obscure technicality the way things are going.

Stay tuned everyone! My money says our friend, Mr. Madoff, is going to be in France before you know it! And on Obama's way out, he might get a pardon. Can anyone say, "Marc Rich"?

According to commentators there are 3 factors involved in the decision:

1. Nobody can figure out how he did it and they want to know so they can prevent this type of scam in the future.

2. They want to get names of others involved.

3. Madoff's motivation to tell may be to save family members and influence what prison he is sent too. I remember from the Savings and Loan Scandal that some of these prisons are almost like resorts. . One of them was jokingly called "Club Fed."
