Isometrics: Strength Beyond Imagination

Hello Everyone,

There is an old saying that applies to everything in life, "A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link."

Visualize the Following:

Suppose you use a chain to, say, tow some massive boat behind your truck. If the boat is heavy enough, the chain might break. Where will it break? At the weakest link.

The point being this: Suppose you made a chain with 100 links, 99 links of case-hardened steel and one link of tin. Then you try to pull the heavy boat with it. What will happen? The tin link will snap. It doesn't matter how strong the other 99 links are. If just one link is weak, the chain will break. The overall strength of a chain is not the strength of the strongest link, or even of the average link. The overall strength of a chain is determined by the strength of the weakest link.

Now consider the following as stated by Bruce Lee: "Only one or two seconds are required to take a curl from thigh level to chin height. The hardest part of the curl is not the start or the finish, but instead the middle of the curl, where leverage causes the greatest effort. Yet the muscles are in this position for only a fraction of a second. With Isometric Contraction the muscles would be exerting full force in this position for 12 seconds so, theoretically, one effort here could build as much strength as more than a dozen repetitions performed in the conventional fashion."

That is a brilliant observation that Mr Lee made but in truth he is understating the extreme potential that Isometric Contraction has for increasing strength in a dramatic way far more quickly than any other method.

Example: Lets use the curl that Mr. Lee spoke of and let's say that you are an exceptionally strong man that can curl 150 pounds in strict form. Without doubt you would discover that Mr Lee is 100% Correct. Your strength at both the beginning and ending can easily surpass 150 pounds but you get stuck just as you are lifting it to a point somewhere between 70degrees and 90degrees that prevents you from completing the lift any further. With Isometric Contraction using the New Isometric Power Belt you can literally focus 100% of your effort at the exact "sticking point" that had stopped you previously from completing the lift. The strength increase will be so fast that you will find yourself increasing the amount of resistance because the old sticking has become much, much stronger and you will be working past previous limits in short order. In fact, If you only focus on your weakest points in any given plane of motion you will discover that you quickly surpass all previous limitations and do so very quickly and as a result your 'Over all' will increase quite remarkably.

Now get this, with Isometrics there is absolutely NO MOMENTUM as in a standard lift. This allows you to focus 100% of your strength building effort where it is needed most...Nothing else compares. The extraordinary thing about the NEW Isometric Power Belt and how I teach it is that you will be able to position your self with an exactness that no other Isometric Training device has ever made possible. You will literally surpass all of your previous strength limitations as result. In fact, you'll discover so much additional strength as felt in 'energy' that you will feel surging through your body that you will have to fight the temptation to do only Isometrics as well as the temptation to do too may contractions in a workout. Seriously, IF you train longer than 15 to 20 minutes of intense Isometric Contraction your Central Nervous System will become depleted (I know I have done it). YOU will feel burned out and have to take a day off. Nothing wrong with that happening from time to time as you discover where your personal limits are but why do it when you will get better results with fewer contractions and faster recovery. Let me also tell you that if you train daily on Isometrics as I do you will find 10 to15 minutes on a daily schedule will not only allow for a complete recovery but actually enhance recovery (If I do 25 to 30 minutes I literally have to take an entire day off). One other thing you will very quickly learn is that all bodyweight exercises will become extremely light to your perception and rather than increase the number of sets and repetitions you will achieve better results if you cut back and balance your Isometric and Dynamic Training. All told, you will be awed by how much less time you will train and how much better the results will be.
