This is something new to me and haven't heard of this before, well, I think everyone has their own ways to uplift stress and depression, I'm going to share my method of up lifting stress and depression, I usually get depressed at work and it makes me mad so I leave that work for some time and do my favorite stuff, I talk to the one who has comic qualities and who calms me, when at home I go for a walk with my dog. The basic way to reduce stress is to divert your attention from the particular thing which is giving you a lot of stress. Divert your attention to what you like doing the most and that is your favorite hobby like play with your kids, spend time with your friends, watch something honey, read jokes or go on a walk.

Ryan,

Those are pretty good things to do. As the Bible says, a happy heart does like medicine.

Cold, cool showers and baths also have a therapeutic effect on the body. It is an old belief that cool or cold showers and baths make the body stronger, help fight germs and illness, make the person stronger. Might not be scientific but is a tradition that is handed down from the ancient Romans in parts of Italy, and I enjoy that type of shower. But it is just for physical health and fitness. The Romans had a cold bath after a steam bath or hot soak in a pool. A wise man called Duff offered this "I think science is just now catching up to a lot of these old folk traditions". Might just be a psychological effect but a cold or cool shower can be invigorating.
