I've been doing lots of pushups lately, but just this week switched back from floor pushups to Atlas 1 pushups. Man is my chest sore today! I don't know why I keep doing those other pushups, as the Atlas variety (using ordinary dining room table chairs) sure hit my chest much, much better than floor pushups.

What do you guys think: are the Atlas pushup versions superior for chest development?

Hey Duff -

My experience is that Atlas 1's are the easiest for me to do under extra tension, thus, they seemed to have always produced incredible chest results in the past. I can't get the same 'mental-tension' with floor, Atlas 2 or Atlas 3 as of yet. I have yet to master tension hindu push-ups as well. But I haven't focused much on that one, since I use it more for conditioning and stretching.

Hey Duff,

My experiance with Atlas1's are they tend to build my lower chest.I tend to be lower chest dominate so I like Atlas III's and WPT with feet elevated for chest development.

Charles Atlas original Dips (Atlas 1 Pushup) hits the chest muscles! I suspect for most people. But we are all a little differnt.
