From “Nowhere” to “Now Here”

From “Nowhere” to “Now Here”

Before we set our hearts too much upon anything, let us examine how happy they are who already possess it.—Francois De La Rochefoucauld

So you think you’d be so much happier if you could only have more time, more money, more success, better looks, bigger muscles, more height, more hair, or anything else you think you don’t have enough of in your life right now. Speaking from experience, I have known many women and men who had all the beauty and outward “success” you could ask for . . . and all the problems you’d never want. While much of their lives was focused on the physical, far less was devoted to the mental and spiritual. Once you get beyond their outer shell, you immediately sense the deep void and desperation they are feeling. In fact, some of them are downright miserable.

Sure, there may be a few things in your life that you would like to change. New things that you would like to experience, and old things that are not working for you that you would like to get rid of . . . and I know you will. But on your way to better things, let yourself be happy for who you are right now and all the progress you have already made. Don’t forget that you have already come a long way from feeling as though you are going “nowhere” to where you are “now here.” Believe me, that is something to celebrate.
