Sunday August 26, 2012

25 pushups done every hour for 5 hours, then it got busy at work

When I got home I did 1 to 10 then 10 to 1 eight count prison burpees ( 2 pushups with a jump) so that was 220 pushups.

Then I held the plan for 1:02, this was my first attempt at this exercise

After this I did 55 more pushups to total out at 400 for the day, short term goal is 500 daily

Been awhile since I have posted.. Rest assured the workouts are every day, with the exception of Labor Day (i took a rest day). The burpees are fast and furious, the fat is coming off and the numbers are going up!

Been working on a few new ideas, but here is what went down today: 6 count burpee, no jump, but moved at a rapid pace 20 down to 1, 210 total burpees in 24 minutes

100 jumping jacks

15 side crunches each side, 15 oblique crunches each side, 30 leg lifts, 30 crunches

OK.....

Mondays will be 100 burpees in 10 minutes or less then Chest and Triceps
One max set of close grip diamond pushups, then three sets of half of that
One max set of regular pushups, then three sets of half of that
One max set of wide grip pushups then three sets of half of that
Three sets of dips

Wednesdays will be 100 burpees, then back and biceps, this will be in the form of a pullup/chinup pyramid then isometric curls

Fridays will be 100 burpees, then legs and lower back, this will be boot beaters squats, supermans and jump rope

Tues/Thurs/Sats will be MAX burpees for 30 minutes or a mix of burpees (all varieties and other various military type calisthenics

Sunday will be a long hike or a rest day, but something active

Stomach will be worked 6 days per week

I plan for these workouts to take no longer than 30 minutes per day

Wow been awhile since I've posted!

Eight count burpees (2 pushups, no jump) 20 down to 1 (420 pushups total)

Superset with 10 Atlas situps, so 210 situps

Two sets wide pushups 35, 30 reps

Two sets close grip pushups 20, 20

525 push-ups!

Then three sets of 20 squats to parallel with close stance

Finished with a mile run in 11:30

Took an hour or more.... I need to simplify and move faster.. Thinking about adopting a "Crispin Mayo" type workout, only much higher in volume!,

Dyno-

I was referencing the Louis L'amour book that John posted about, The Man From Skibbereen (sp?). The main character, Crispin Mayo, does 50 pushups, situps and squats every morning and every night.

I want to simplify a little and just do those three exercises, but in very high volume, 300 each daily or more.

The workout I did today was also drop sets, for pushups I started at 20, dropped to 10 then did 10 sets of 10 all with 15 seconds rest. When I do the burpees or bodybuilders I need at least 30 seconds between sets so the workout takes a long time.

My wife only has so much patience with my daily exercises regimen and Im sort of limited to about 30 minutes daily.

So maybe the bodybuilders are more "cost effective" because the are basically two exercises in one, squat down, pushup twice, stand up, repeat.

Maybe to simplify even more Ill do eight count burpees 20 down to 1 superset with Atlas situps then finish with jump rope. I would like to get 1000 skips without missing.

Shoveled heavy wet snow for about ninety minutes, then:

10 sets of pushups- 320
10 sets of situps- 200

487 step ups on a 7" step in 12 minutes

An even 500 step ups at 12:20
