Hi All

My daughter a junior and her teammates won the 4x800 relay in 9:03.9 at our State Track Meet on Wed. 3rd fastest time in the U.S.A.Their splits for each 800 ( which is close to an 880 or half mile- 2 laps on the track) 1st leg-2:21, 2nd leg (my daughter got us into 2nd pl.) 2:20, 3rd leg 2:14 ( a freshman who has a 55.3 400 meter time), anchor leg 2:06. Anchor leg is one of the top 800 runners in the US.
The 1,2 , and 4th legs took my sports training class all school year.
We do pushups, pull ups, squats, isos, core etc. at least 2/3 days a week.
This has made a big difference with these girls and their perfomances on the track and CC course.

My daughter has had a break out year due to strength training we have done. Her PRs are 800m-2:20, Mile-5:15, 2 mile-11:13.
We run 30 to 40 miles a week which is quite low compared to many programs. We usually do 2 interval workouts a week on the track.
Races like this just do not happen often, they came into the race ranked 3rd state wide and won by 4/100s of a second. Our state is one of the most competitive in the US for track.
Needless to say I am one proud Dad and Coach. :
Monty
