I'll be doing 5x10 from knees 5 days a week for 4 weeks to get me to 1000. So far 3 sets this morning. I do mine on carpet, to make it a bit harder!!

Jon,
Good job!
I perform this exercise on carpet also.

I will complete two more sets of 10 when I get home, or, maybe, one set of 20.

Day 1 update: 5X10 completed.

Hey Guys,

I'm averaging 50-100 reps daily in sets of 10 or more. I don't think any single exercise accomplishes as much in terms of full body strengthening to the extent that this exercise does. Truly one exceptional exercise.

Tim, I currently do 35 a day from the knees. I do it 5 days a week, not 7.

This took me a good month or two to get up to, which I started last winter, from an initial start of doing just 2 to now 35 per day, using a from-the-knees device called an ab slide. The soreness has long gone.

Standing I have not tried as of yet. I will probably have the results Greg Newton mentioned!

Greg,
Thanks for your comments and joining our challenge.
I encourage you to try the SWPU from the feet.

I have offered several variations for the forum so they can work up to the full SWPU.

Roll out on your feet, lower to the knees, roll back in.
Roll out on your knees, rise to the toes, roll back in (significantly more difficult!).
Someone else suggested using stairs and rolling out on the landing. This way, the athlete could move up one stair as they gain strength.

I applaud everyone who is joining and participating in this challenge from the feet or knees.
The results will be OBVIOUS in the mirror!

Hey Greg (VRT Man),

I'm curious: Did you choose the Ab Slide over other wheeled devices for any particular reason? I've been looking around and wondered if you thought it had any advantages/disadvantages?

Thanks.

Paul

Hey Paul,

I mentioned that because my wife bought me one at a rummage sale! I didn't choose it, it's just a gimmick she picked up. It was a total surprise to me. I'm not endorsing it over any other, because I haven't tried any other, just this one; it was because of her buying it that I decided to use it.

I don't believe it is superior or inferior to any other models, including a home-made ab wheel with handles.

Big guy that I am, I wanted to slim my waist down and did Atlas sit-ups, which I also alternate with doing an ab wheel exercise. I do 55 ASU's in one set, at a later time in the day. I do 35 ab-wheel roll outs all at once, and perform each one until arms are straight and my back too.
