20 to 1 for pushups, situps and step ups 220 reps each in about 25 minutes. This was fun and quick without the jarring burpees. I threw different pushup variations in to keep it interesting. I may do a version of this tomorrow, 10 sets of 20 pushups, 20 situps and 40 step ups. We will see

Sunday August 11, 2012

Situps, Pushups, Hindu Squats 21 to 1 reps

300 jump ropes

30:00

Another fun workout. I do prefer step ups to squats, easier on knees and harder on heart and lungs so I'm sticking with them.

I like the burpees for their sheer fat shredding benefits so I'll hit it hard tomorrow after less intense workouts this weekend

the 11th set I did 50 reps of each and realized I should up the reps to 50 to start with!!!

I havent posted in awhile, but I have been experimenting with different movements this week.

Lately I have been doing a 10 to 1 descending set of a variation of the Burpee exercise I love so much.

Each rep of this particular burpee contains three pushups, three mountain climbers each leg and three squats.

Believe it or not its a great way to add volume and burn some calories, just because of the sheer amount of full body movement taking place, but the original burpees kick my butt just as much, I guess because I move faster through them. Either way, im having a ball.

Tried this out today for grins:

11 to 1 descending sets of "Wolverine Burpees" (three pushups of varying style, 3 mountains climbers per leg and three squats, the last of which is a jump, but the other two are however you want) they probably have a cooler name but this is what Im using!

The catch was I did them wearing one pound wrist weights I bought at Rite Aid and steel toed Doc Marten workboots (these bad boys probably weigh more than 1 pound each), to simulate prison shackles.

The whole workout equalled 198 Pushups, Mountain Climbers and Squats, so on the last set I did 5 reps of each movement for an even 200 reps each.

This took a little over 21 minutes

400 jump ropes, still wearing boots, took off wrist weights

26 minutes
