Tim,

How would you describe the benefits of doing squats while the upper body is held in isometric contraction and what particular contraction(s) do you use for that?

Chuck,
To hold the upper body in isometric contraction makes the movement a total body exercise.

While performing squats, hold the hands in MILO Extreme starting position (one fist on top of the other. Press down and pull up at the same time; also, push right and left at the same time). This simple action combined with an abdominal contraction places the entire upper body in isometric contraction.

Tim, I forgot to ask this earlier... do you ever do squats while doing the Milo with movement instead of statically? Just curious!

I have considered it.
Instead I have moved my statically held arms to different positions (low, high).

30 A2 push-ups
2 30s bridges
30 crunches
30 squats Upperbody in iso contraction

I am working on building my bridge.
I do not know exactly how (whether resulting from the strokes or some other reason), but I have lost my ability to get my nose to the mat or even close. I will be satisfied when I can get back to within an inch of N2M.
