Jake, do you avoid foods that contain Oxalic acid, as that could be the cause of your kidney stones? Kidney stones are calcium oxalate, and I would avoid foods such as beets, spinach, beans, chocolate, tea etc. I don't think the calcium in dairy is responsible for kidney stones, since studies have shown a lower incidence in people consuming dairy, but the calcium in the body is used to neutralize the oxalic acid salts from the above sources so they can be eliminated from the body.
