Welp. It would appear I've added a 1/4" to my arms(13.5"->13.75"---I know, my arms suck.) Not earth shaking, but pretty good for 24 days' work.

Tonight I'll try a max set of pushups and see how it goes.

If I take the pullup challenge(3000 in a month,) I'll remember to take starting measurements for chest, too. I haven't measured that in a while.

My shoulders seems to have grown more than my arms, but I don't really know how to measure those correctly without a giant pair of calipers.

Gentleman,

Thanks for putting these challanges up, keeps things fun. I am going to try for both. Pushups, military and rollouts from a kneel.

Thanks and good luck,

Hi Viking Dan

Just read your arm gains, really good, you ask members on this forum who have done weights in the past anybody had made a gain of 1/4" on their arms in less than a month, great job.

If your workout did this, then i would love to see what results John's new book will bring.

If you do the pullup challenge, let us know, thanks.

KEITH JAMES.

The "real" pullup challenge given to me was to do 5000 in a month, but unlike pushups, which I can do anywhere, pullups I can only do when I'm home.

I work 10-12 hour days and there's nothing pullup-able near my job. Believe me. I've looked.

I will shoot for 3000 for November. I may mix up my grips.

Hi Viking Dan

Whether you do 3000 or 5000 its going to be a heck of a workout.

I know where you are coming from when you say that your pullups are nowhere near your pushups, same here, and i think that most people would say that, good luck in your new program.

Thanks for the last on e, iam enjoying the pushups.

All the best.

KEITH JAMES.

depending on the stirdiness of your door jams at work, you may actually be able to use those VikingDan. I would caution though that they are VERY intense on the fingers if you haven't built finger strength. So if you do find you can use some that way, be careful.

As to your main post, awesome job man, congrats on hitting a big milestone.

There is nothing within a reasonable distance from work that wouldn't destroy my hands.

If there were at least a decent tree, I'd use my suspension trainer for the at-work-pullups but there's nothing. :(

Warmed up for 5 reps. Felt rusty on it. Took a 5 minute breather and couldn't work my way past 25. Took another 5 off and tried again. Only made it to 20.

I could chalk it up to the flu, being out of practice(I did take 4 days off from it,) or being incredibly damaged from doing 10,000 of them. I'll give it another shot tomorrow after a good night's sleep and see if I can do better.

Not encouraging so far, but at least my arms grew.
