Hello Everyone,

It seems that one recurring theme you see constantly coming up everywhere you look is the desire to lose weight and specifically body fat. Obviously, there are more diet books than practically any other category and it continues to expand almost daily.

After studying the issue for many years I have absolutely no doubt that the biggest issue to be addressed is that of elevating body-positive hormones while lowering those that have a negative impact.

Let me give you a clear example of what I am talking about. I have a friend that had been experiencing a deep sense of depression for the past several years. Granted he was 43 years old when he began to experience his symptoms that were getting progressively worse and also included insomnia. His doctor put him on anti-depressants and his sex drive became nonexistent as he began gaining excess fat around his abdomen. His self-image took a nosedive and it caused major problems between him and his wife. He contacted me and I told him to go a friend of mine (a medical doctor) for a check-up and have his Testosterone levels checked.

Long story short. He stopped all anti-depressants and is now taking several natural testosterone and HGH boosters. The one that seems to have by far the best and most noticeable benefit has been DHEA. Not only are his testosterone levels back in the normal range but he has also regained a lot of his muscle mass and lost a great deal of body fat while simultaneously improving his state of mind.

The one that he is taking is from Natrol and he is currently taking two 50mg tablets daily. Some of you may be fighting a similar battle and if you are it would be well worth having your doctor check testosterone and HGH levels as well as DHEA.

DHEA is the most abundant androgenic hormone in the human body, and it’s the base for about ninety percent of the testosterone men create and seventy-five percent of the estrogen women make. Your adrenal glands secrete DHEA into your system, where it’s converted into testosterone and other useful hormones. As the human body ages, the production of this hormone diminishes, from about 30 mg at the age of twenty to about 6 mg at the age of eighty, the biggest decline of any biochemical in the human body. This has led to speculation that it can be used as an antiaging supplement. Frankly, it makes perfect sense to me.

This is especially true when one considers that in addition to boosting your body’s own natural testosterone production, it is also linked to enhanced bone health, improved insulin balance, improved sense of well-being, fat loss, enhanced sex drive, and even healthier connective tissues. This, in turn, makes it possible for you to train daily with the Transformetrics Strength Training System in order to create the youthful muscle mass you need to stay young, strong, athletic, and virile for life.

What’s more, recent scientific research has pinpointed low DHEA levels as a primary marker for many degenerative diseases and accelerated aging. One of the reasons I believe DHEA is even more important today than ever before is because of the stress levels we are each experiencing and dealing with today, and the fact that DHEA helps to lower cortisol levels. Cortisol is a hormone created by your body to respond to stress. And chronic, unresolved stress is a killer. In fact, it’s one of the most damaging factors to your long-term health—and virility. Now don’t get me wrong, under the right circumstances, such as a life-or-death struggle or an emergency situation where you must save someone’s life, cortisol is great. Why? Because it redirects all of your body’s biological and instinctive resources to survival—you become incredibly strong, can run fast, climb high, think more clearly, and you can fight like a Viking berserker—but there is a problem. If you are not facing a life-or-death situation and yet experience chronically elevated stress and high cortisol levels day in and day out, the excessive cortisol will wreak havoc on your body because it redirects all of your body’s resources away from maintenance and repair and as a result accelerates the aging process. This phenomenon has been observed many times in distance that have chronically elevated levels of cortisol. This is one of the reasons that so many of them have excess fat covering their lower abs and lower back.


The good news is that DHEA protects your body from the hormone cortisol and the stress that triggers its production. Like DHEA, cortisol is secreted by the adrenal glands. If oversecreted, as the result of chronic stress, and cortisol output remains high over a prolonged period (months/years), the breakdown of the body’s tissues (muscle wasting, thinning of the skin, bone loss) and immune suppression can result. Common symptoms of chronic high cortisol include sleep disturbances, fatigue, depression, fat gain in the waist and hips, and constant, unexplained anxiety. Bottom line: this is not a good thing, and it is something you need to correct and alleviate immediately if you are experiencing any of these symptoms.

Have you tried Taking DHEA?

I'd be interested in trying it to see if I notice any difference.

Hello Kenpopaul,

The answer is that YES, I do take 100 mg of DHEA each day divided into two 50mg doses morning and night.

John,

That brings to mind a question, regarding the new book, which I'm sure will be evident when it comes out.

Will it focus solely on "real food" nutrition?

Or, will there be a significant amount of supplement recommendation(s)?

Neither is bad. I'm just curious.

It would be absolutely wonderful if it could but that's being a little unrealistic in the day and age that we are living in.

The sad truth is that we are living at a time in which mineral depletion of the soils in the USA is so rampant that a great deal of the food grown on it is mineral deficient. And what is even sadder is that buying foods that are sold as "Organic" is absolutely no guarantee that you are paying for food grown on mineral-rich soil. Put simply, if you see the "USDA Organic" or "Certified Organic" seal on your food, the item must have an ingredients list and the contents should be 95% or more certified organic, meaning free of synthetic additives like pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and dyes, and must not be processed using industrial solvents, irradiation, or genetic engineering, according to the USDA. IT DOES NOT mean the food was grown on minerally rich soil and that is where the problem lies. So to answer your question, YES, there are certain additional nutrients that can and will make a noticeable difference in the short term.

Here's the deal. Anytime you are experiencing a nutritional deficiency you will feel an incredible difference the moment you begin correcting it, BUT once you have corrected the deficiency you will not notice much of a difference. This is why cycling through different nutrients can have positive effects in the short term.

The real Bottom line is that if we could buy truly fresh produce, vegetables and fruits grown on minerally rich soils we would not need any kind of supplementation BUT that is not the reality of the situation.

I've got some DHEA and I will begin taking it immediately. I have some pesky poundage to get rid of!
I'm also increasing my protein intake by 50 grams per day.

Thank You Keyway,

Go easy on the DHEA and stay with 50mg daily dose unless you intuitively feel as though you need more. DHEA does wonders for eradicating the effects of cortisol overload. It can help you sleep by inducing a sense of calm. Most men will feel an increase in both strength and energy almost immediately.

Thanks John, will do.

I'm age 64 and I'm having a challenge increasing muscle and losing fat.
I rebound on my Cellerciser daily and just started (again) GUTS and some other strength exercises. This combined with cleaning up my diet a little should result in the desired changes!

I would suggest reading up on whole 30, follow that. You can't fail get to a decent weight if you follow that very sensible plan
